Florence is considered the place where Renaissance originated and recognized in the whole world as the cradle of art.
Here Apolito Giuseppe Carmine, after attending the School of Arts in Sesto Fiorentino, specialising in Artistic Ceramics, started out when very young his training in the Artistic Ceramics of Eugenio Pattarino, worldwide known for his artistic works exhibited in various international museums.
This is where he had the opportunity to develop his natural disposition in the art of creation, which is after all the desire of transformation, evolution and fantasy, modelling clay with extreme care for details, creating unique forms and peculiar features.
During his flanking to the master he manages to improve and specialise and re-create meticulously items like sacred icons, pirates, musketeers, knights and grotesque masks of all types and measures.
His elevated artistic sensibility and his devotion to the research of details allow him to start out his own independent professional activity in 1974 founding Ceramiche Artistiche together with his wife Annamaria, his valued co-operator.
Apolito Carmine Giuseppe is the absolute protagonist: He makes the choice of the earth, the red one from Montelupo, then he fashions it and models it into sculptures completely hand made, then bakes the items in his own laboratory and subsequently decorates them completely by hand with brilliant enamels and pure gold, making use of highly qualified personnel.
At last the object is antiqued to have the clientele enjoy that antique taste that has always been a character of the Renaissance epoch, but above all the prestige of being in possession of a unique object that will never be the same as another.
His items are mostly figurative: from Cirano to grotesque characters, masks and musketeers, pirates or duelling medieval knights and not less important are his sacred figures, Our Ladies, Crucifixes and Saints, re-created in full Baroque style, without renouncing to his personal creative taste.
But there is also a production of interior decorative and illumination objects: lamp bases, trays, center decorations for tables, umbrella holders, cachepots, animals and much more with a great decorative impact; decorations inspired by nature and its fruits, motifs, colours and classic forms, from Renaissance above all, with particular reference to the Tuscan ceramic tradition, with the constant aim of an original combination of elegance and personal fantasy.
A "Made in Italy" signature known in the international market, a guarantee certificate to testify the quality of the product, all characteristics that have permitted to satisfy the requirements of an expert and qualified clientele that made the history of Ceramiche Excelsior.
